Welcome Summer!
We appreciate the opportunity to keep you informed of recent news and events through this periodic e-newsletter.

Now that Memorial Day has arrived so, too, has the unofficial start of summer.  Summer around here means senior portraits and weddings.  We are looking forward to keeping busy with both for the next several months.

As we typically do, this edition of our e-newsletter will focus on everything you need to know about senior portraits.  Keep reading to find out more about:
  • the reasons to choose us for your portraits,
  • what it will cost you and how you can save,
  • the best time to call for an appointment, and
  • tips for getting the most out of your session.

Why Demers Photography?

Dylan - Bonny EagleWe know that you have many choices when it's time for your senior portraits, so why should you choose us?   The answer is easy.  We specialize in senior portrait sessions that are as unique as you are; we do not offer "one size fits all" senior sessions.  Your senior portrait session will be held at your favorite location(s) with your clothing choices and any significant items (or people) you want to incorporate.  You get to decide.

Once you have made the important decisions, we will provide you with the services of not one but two photographers.  As individuals, we bring our own perspective and style to your session, which only enhances your final outcome.  When the session is over, we provide you with a wide variety of poses and reasonably priced portrait products to make your final selections from.

Time and time again we have received great feedback about how easy we are to work with, the variety of proofs we offer, and our affordable pricing structure.  We are confident that when you compare our services and prices, you will be pleased, too.  Contact us today for more information.

How Much does it Cost?
Chelsea - Bonny EagleWe offer two senior sessions to choose from.
  • The Senior Experience session takes place at one location of your choice for up to two hours with unlimited outfit changes.  It also includes your yearbook photo.  The session fee for this session is $85.
  • The Ultimate Senior Experience session takes place at two locations of your choice for up to three hours (including travel time) with unlimited outfit changes.  It includes your yearbook photo, as well.  The session fee for this session is $110.
We offer individual portraits as well as portrait packages.  Our package pricing starts at $150.  We also offer a great variety of products in addition to portraits.  Some of our more popular senior products include accordion wallets, 5x5 proof books, custom 8x8 coffee-table albums, and graduation announcements.
How Can I Save?
Andrew - Gorham High SchoolWe pride ourselves on providing a great service at reasonable prices.  But we do understand that people need to work within budgets, and we have a few ways that can help you stretch yours further.

First:
Get a referral card from any one of our Class of 2011 Senior Reps you see pictured here.  If you are referred by one of these great reps, you will receive 3 sheets of wallets absolutely FREE.  (Only one senior rep referral will be accepted per session.)

Second: Take advantage of either one of the following offers.  (These offers can be combined with a senior rep referral/free wallets, but they cannot be combined with each other.)

Either become our friend on Facebook AND schedule a July appointment for your session to receive $25 off your session fee;

Or schedule a Senior Mini-session which lasts for up to one hour and takes place at our home (using our yard and/or the railroad tracks on our road) and pay a session fee of only $50.

We will also offer periodic specials to our Facebook friends.  If you haven't joined us yet, now is the time to do it: www.facebook.com/demersphotography.

When is the Best Time to Call?

Our answer to this question is always the same: the sooner the better!  YearbookSidney - Gorham High School portrait deadlines for many of the local schools are mid-September to early October.  For planning purposes, please note it will take about two weeks from the time we meet until we can get you a digital copy of your yearbook image.  For those students with mid-September deadlines that means your session needs to take place at the end of August at the latest.

Historically, we have noticed that students like to book appointments in August.  In fact, thanks to the great work of our Class of 2011 Senior Reps, students are already contacting us to schedule August sessions.  As a result of their efforts and the weddings we have on the calendar, we anticipate that August will fill up very fast this year.  What can you do to ensure you get an appointment when you want it?  Call early and remember that July is a great time to have your senior portrait session!

Tip Corner: Preparing for Your Senior Portraits
Micha - Windham High School
When you have senior portraits taken with us, we have two goals for your session: we want you to have fun, and we want to take pictures that really reflect you.  This will be your last year in high school, and we want to help you kick it off in style!

You can check out some tips for preparing for your session on our website by clicking hereIn addition, keep these additional tips in mind:
  • Jeans are a clasic choice, but they are not the only choice.  Don't be afraid to select a dressy outfit with great shoes.
  • Don't forget about accessories - hats, scarves, "fir" trimmed hoods, and sunglasses all make great accents.
  • Dig your prom dress out of the closet and ask us about a Sarah - Windham High School"trash the dress" session!
  • If you have played sports for the last four years, make sure to incorporate one or all of them into your session.  We've got great ideas for how you can do that.
  • Find your favorite baby picture and bring it along.  We'll capture a picture that shows how much you've changed since then.
  • When trying to decide where you want to go for your session, think about a location that means something to you.  We love trying new places!
  • Finally, if you have seen something that you like and want to try - be sure to tell us about it.
When it's time for your senior portraits, think outside of the box and express yourself!  We'll go along for the ride with you, and you won't regret it.
That's all we have for this edition of our e-newsletter.  Be sure to check out our blog "More in Focus" and follow us on Facebook for the latest news and updates.

Sincerely,
