Welcome!
Rain, rain go away, don't come back 'til Labor Day!  It certainly feels like we have had our fair share of rain this Spring, doesn't it?  We hope this is not a sign of what's to come this Summer.  Last year's frequent rain was more than challenging with all of our outdoor senior sessions.  We are hoping we won't have those same issues this year.

Speaking of last year's senior sessions, the many friends we made in the Class of 2009 are now getting ready to graduate.  Thank you to all of you for making last year a great one.  We wish you all the best the future has to offer.

While we bid a fond farewell to the Class of 2009, we extend a warm welcome to the Class of 2010.  We have already begun working with our fantastic Senior Representatives - Corinne, Daisy and Sandy.  If you know them, be sure to ask how you can earn free senior portraits.  If you are in the Class of 2010, keep reading to learn everything you need to know to get ready for your senior portraits.  If you are not in the Class of 2010 but you know someone who is, you can forward this newsletter by clicking on the "Forward this issue" icon on the left.

Senior Portraits - Going Out in Style!

Senior Rep ImageWhen you have senior portraits taken with us, we have two goals for your session: we want you to have fun, and we want to take pictures that really reflect you.  You have many sides to your personality, and we want to give you the chance to show them off.

When preparing for the session, seniors often think about their favorite clothes as well as their hair, make-up and accessories.  We want to remind you to also think about what has defined you over the last four years.

Have you played one or more sports throughout your high school career?  Why not select the sports arena you spent so much time in as one of your senior portrait locations?

Have you been involved in theater or dance for as long as you can remember?   With the appropriate permission, your high school auditorium or dance studio can be another great location. If not, a dance leotard with ballet slippers makes a great outfit choice no matter where the location.

Is there one person that you are never separated from?  Then bring that friend with you for a few shots together.  Or, ask us about having a joint senior session with the two of you.

These are just a few suggestions, and there are so many more.  When it's time for your senior portraits, think outside of the box and express yourself!  We'll go along for the ride with you, and you won't regret it.
School Yearbook Deadlines

Senior Rep ImageWe don't have the final dates for the yearbook deadlines just yet.  However, if the local schools follow the same general schedule they have adopted for the past couple of years, we can make the following estimations:

Gorham High School will have the earliest deadline, most likely during the second or third week of September.

Westbrook and Windham High Schools will follow next around the first of October.

Bonny Eagle High School will finish off the season with its deadline around the second week of October.

When should you call to schedule your appointment?  The sooner the better!  Many students call early to schedule August appointments.  As a result, August fills up very fast, and we have to turn students away who wait until the end of the season to call.  (We hate turning people away!)

What can you do to ensure you get an appointment when you want it?  Call early and remember that July is a great time to schedule your senior portrait session, too. This year, we will be offering some great incentives to our Facebook friends who are interested in trying something new and scheduling sessions in July.  See below for more information.

We're Finally on Facebook!

Senior Rep ImageLast year, we started offering digital Facebook pictures to our senior clients (and others), but we never started a Facebook page of our own.  Well, that has changed now.  We finally have a Facebook page!  Just search for Judianne Demers to find the official Facebook page for Demers Photography.  We plan to offer specials and promotions to our "friends" that you won't find anywhere else, so look us up and stay tuned!
Making Time for Family Portraits
We had a number of families inquire about family portraits in the Fall last year.  But between school, extra-curricular activities, or part-time jobs, it became very difficult for these families to coordinate all the different activities.

For those families with older children and lots of things to schedule around, we want to remind you that July is a great time of year for family portraits.  Any pictures taken during the summer can always be used for holiday cards and gifts later on.

That concludes another issue of our newsletter.  We are excited for the warmer weather and we are looking forward to a great summer with you!
