| Welcome! |
|
Welcome to another edition of our e-newsletter. It just wouldn't be our summer newsletter without talking about Senior Portraits. We have been so lucky to work with so many great seniors and their parents in the past. Thanks to all of you! We have really enjoyed getting to know you and wish you much success in the future. |
| More "In Focus" |
|
Earlier this year we launched our Blog, More "In Focus", as a way to keep everyone updated on the happenings around Demers Photography.
Since launching More "In Focus" we have had over 500 visits! So if you haven't checked it out yet, now's the time. If you have, make sure you check back regularly as we update it about once a week.
We plan to continue to share news about Demers Photography and sneak peeks of recent sessions, but we also plan to launch some special promotions this summer that will be announced on our Blog only.
So make sure you visit today...

| Senior Portraits: Going Out In Style!! |
When you have Senior Portraits taken with us, we have two goals for our session. We want you to have FUN, and we want to take pictures that really reflect you. That's why we offer you two location choices and unlimited outfit changes. You have many sides to your personality, and we want to give you the chance to show them off.
Do you love soccer or football or hockey or any other kind of sport? Well, one location can be at your high school's soccer field or football field or ice rink.
Have you been involved in theater or dance for as long as you can remember? Then why not have one location be your high school auditorium or dance studio.
Is there one person that you are never separated from? Then bring that friend with you for a few shots together. Or, ask us about having a joint senior session with the two of you.
These are just a few suggestions, and there are so many more. When it's time for your Senior Portraits - think outside of the box and express yourself! We'll go along for the ride with you, and you won't regret it. |
| "Senior Portrait Season" - When is the Best Time to Call??? |
"Senior Portrait Season" is what we call the intense period between August 1st and September 15th. Why is it so intense? Because most of the local high schools have early deadlines for senior yearbook portraits - typically between September 15th and October 15th. In our experience, many busy high school seniors don't start thinking about yearbook photos until the calendar says August 1st. The good news - for both of us - is that Senior Portraits can be taken at any time over the summer. July is just as good as August to schedule your senior session. So, when should you call us for an appointment? NOW! This year (thanks to the great Senior Representatives we have!) we have received a large number of calls already, but these early calls still want to book appointments in August. By the time August 1st rolls around, all of our prime appointments could likely be taken. We still have a number of openings in July, please contact us today to schedule an appointment. |
| New In 2008! |
This year we are excited to offer two new products to our Seniors: 411 Cards and Myspace/Facebook Image.
411 Cards are a great way to share your contact information with friends and family. You decide what information to put on the card (e.g. cell phone, email, myspace page, etc.) and we design a custom "business card" with your favorite image and information.
A Myspace/Facebook Image is a digital file of your favorite image, sized for use on your myspace or facebook page. This is a great way to show off your senior portrait. |
| Tip Corner: Summer Vacation Photographs! |
|
Summer vacation season is starting up, and we have a few helpful hints for capturing your vacation pictures. Vacations are a great opportunity to capture different sites and our children having fun.
- Make certain that you have enough memory cards for your entire vacation, or that you have a way to download pictures from your card. Note: You never want to delete an individual photo from a memory card. Always download the entire card, and then format it in the camera. Deleting single images could lead to possible corruption of the data on the card.
- Make certain you have extra batteries, having to buy batteries at a theme park can be expensive. Rechargeable batteries are great, but make sure you use the higher end ones to ensure longer life.
- Take precautions to protect your camera. You want to keep your camera dry, and not expose it to dust or sand (i.e.
be careful at the beach!). Additionally digital cameras, like other electronics, are sensitive to extreme temperatures; be careful not to leave your camera in a hot car all day.
- Scout out the best location to get the shot before your family gets on that ride or goes down the trail. Taking a few seconds to plan ahead will allow you to capture the memories of a life time.
- When photographing landmarks or objects of interest, look for unique aspects such as lighting, color, or shapes. Capturing these features will give you unique pictures.
- Photographing at the beach can be a lot of fun, but it is also challenging. The sun can be your best friend or worst enemy when taking pictures. Use the sun to your advantage when photographing to add light to your subject or to provide a nice reflection in the sand or water. Try different angles and avoid shooting directly in to the sun.
The most important thing to do is have fun and experiment -- remember you can always delete the image when you get home. Once your trip is done, be certain to download your pictures and back them up!! The pictures you take on your vacation will make great scrapbook pages or collages. |
| Midweek Special! |
During the month of August we will be offering a midweek special for Senior Sessions on Wednesdays. Be certain to inquire about the details when booking your session.
